Job hunting: Makati area (super late post)

This happened right before holy week and I blog it just now. See how lazy I am?! *sigh*

After the Ortigas job hunt (Click here and here), me and my friends decided to had a job hunt in the Makati area since this place is know to be the Business district here in the Philippines. Our call time was 9am supposedly but an emergency happened so I got in the meeting place 2 hours late.

So, we started at around lunch time and our 1st stop was in the Enterprise tower. There are more or less 30 companies inside the building so we took advantage of it. But in the end, we were only able to pass our resumes on three companies 'cuz we got lost. LOL!!

This building is effin' weird seriously. We had numerous "joy" rides in the elevators, to the point that we got all dizzy. Is it the building or us??! Whew! Stressful!

A mini pond inside

I took these pics as a guide but they were no use. We still got lost!!

After we finished job hunting in the Enterprise Tower, we grabbed some lunch at the food court inside the building. Chit-chats and rest for a while then we were off to do job hunting again.

We transferred to PSE building, only a pedestrian or should I say an underpass away, wherein we submitted our resumes in the building's basement for 2 companies. It felt very weird and degrading!!  Then, we decided to end it there and took some rest in the PSE grounds (we called it Singapore 'cuz it really looks like one).

*We had "kodak" moments while resting so here... :D

Church hopping, the present generation's slang for Visita Iglesia!!

During holy week, me and my family spend most of the time only at home. We haven't go out to the beach, EVER!! or have a vacation somewhere just like the others are doing during this supposed holy time. I don't know if my family is just being "kill joy" or maybe it became a part of our traditions already.

So one thing that I'm looking forward the most when holy week starts, is the Visita Iglesia 'cuz this is the only time that we can go out of the house and experience traffic-free roads. Also, to visit the churches and pray. We either go on Maundy Thursday or Good Friday, depending the schedule but definitely not on Black Saturday. Last year, we have visited 7 churches around the Quezon City vicinity on Maundy Thursday. I don't know why seven! For this year, we chose to visit 7 churches around Manila and some parts of Quezon City and we went out on Good Friday.

*Sorry for the quality. I only used my phone in taking pictures.

1st stop: Redemptorist Church, Baclaran

I was about to took some shots on the Church's facade but there were a lot of people doing Stations of the Cross in front of the church and my mom said it was dangerous to flaunt any gadgets in the area. So there, I only get a chance to have an altar pic, at least, of the church.

For every churches we've visited, we make it a point to light a candle and say a short prayer.

2nd stop: Malate Church

Pieta

3rd stop: Manila Cathedral

the altar

For the last two churches (Malate and Manila), there are no candle-lighting area so we dint able to do so.

4th stop: San Agustin Church, Intramuros

Look how intricate the architecture of the church is. Stunning! Breath-taking!

LB worthy?? NOO!

5th stop supposedly was the Quiapo Church. But when we saw how congested the place was, we've decided to skipped it and just add another church to complete the 7.

The people were on the road's island. Whew!

Awesome!

We came across a mini-procession on our way out.

5th stop: St. Jude Church, Malacanang

6th stop: Santo Domingo Church, QC

As we arrived in the Santo Domingo Church, we saw a lot of TV cameras placed all over and only to found out that it was the set for the annual TV broadcast of Seven Last words or "Siete Palabras". As much as we wanted to stay, it was so hot in the area and lots of people were there.

7th stop: Santa Clara Church, Katipunan

We left the house at around 7:30 am and got home at past 1:00 pm. I actually had fun 'cuz I've been to the churches that are new to me.

I feel so blessed!!!

Online accomplishment: Enstyle's community founder

Last December of the previous year, I received an e-mail (Click here to read) from Enstyle, a newly founded fashion website launched as one of the applications in Facebook. Newbie on Job street!

Many of my friends are recommending JobStreet 'cuz they're saying that it's easier to look for job vacancies/openings there. So early this day, I finally made one. Signing up was just as easy as 1, 2, 3 so I had no problems with that. As I was browsing the site, I saw an English proficiency test. The result then will be publish on the profile. I tried it 'cuz I think it'll attract potential employers if I took the exam. The exam consists of Conversational, Vocabulary, Grammar, and Comprehension and it's a 40-item test, 10 questions per category.

I took the practice exam first to familiarized  myself. And here's the result:

Not bad right??

After the practice exam, I immediately took the real assessment test. Damn!! there was a 20 minute time limit so I got pressured to finish answering all the 40-item test. I followed my first instincts while answering and good thing it worked and I managed to finish all items with 9 minutes still remaining on my time.

Here's what I've got.

My score improved by only one point. Well, I'm satisfied with what I've got. 7 mistakes, not bad!!

This is just a proof that I'm very much ready to WORKKKKK!!!!

Job hunting: Ortigas area (Part 2)

More pics in the park with Chas and me....

Yours truly

Chas

We stayed in the park for like 30 mins or less. Then, we headed to SM Megamall after, to grabbed some food and bought a reviewer for the Civil Service exam happening this May 22, 2011.

We would supposedly had a heavy meal at that time but my mom fetched me so early so we decided to bought bread instead in Bread talk.

(left) BeckHam and Cheese! Yummy!

I'll buy this velvety cake on my 1st pay!!

If I can only afford these cakes at that time, I would bought even the cake slices instead just to taste 'em. I'll definitely be back there when I get my first salary! I PROMISEEEEEEEEE!!!
